Read Write Now is a government funded Western Australian service that assists adults with low literacy to upskill for study, training and/or the workforce. This is a FREE service.
Many adults with low literacy have barriers to being able to access a return to formal learning. This program can assist students who are preparing to study or who are studying and require extra support with course materials.
The tutoring is usually 1.5 hours per week with an experienced volunteer tutor.
The Program provides one-to-one support in reading, writing, spelling, numeracy and digital literacy. It is tailored toward the individual’s learning gaps, needs and goals.
· It is for people over 18
· It is free
· Students must commit to the tutoring and attend planned tutoring sessions or postpone in advance
· It is for Permanent Residents (and have lived in Australia for 5+ years)
· Tutors are volunteers
